HOW TO LIVE WITH INSPIRATION

1. UN-CLUTTER YOUR LIFE.

By getting rid of stuff that you no longer use, you will not only experience a real rush of inspiration but some of your stuff may benefit a charity. It will leave you with more space and with less to reorganize, dust and insure. Get rid of anything that keeps you mired in things and contributes to you leading a cluttered life. It is common sense to first empty our cup so that we may fill it with what will actually serve us. Start with clothes, linen and towels that you haven’t worn or used in the last couple of years, then move onto files and old stationary and don’t forget unused tools, garden pots, toys, books, bicycles, crockery and cutlery. Try it you will not be disappointed!

“He is nearest to God who needs the fewest things”
– Socrates

2. CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULE OF UNNECESSARY ACTIVITIES AND OBLIGATIONS.

If you are unavailable to your Spirit, you will never experience the glow of inspiration. Consciously take steps to slow your thoughts, speech and the frantic pace at which you do things down and learn how to say no to excessively demanding schedules (just say no thanks, it’s not that hard!) Create a healthy dose of leisure time (without the feelings of guilt!). Make sure you consider yourself first on your schedule. Be sure to keep your free time free!

“There is more to life than increasing it’s speed”
– Gandhi

“In our rushing, bulls in china shops, we break our own lives”
– Ann Voskamp

3. APPRECIATE THE SIMPLE BEAUTY OF NATURE.

There is nothing more awe inspiring than nature itself, almost everyone I know has a dream to live in a cabin on a lake or a cottage at the ocean, people will always feel the pull of nature as that which created us created nature, we will always find our peace in natures beauty as we feel closer to the source of life. So make the effort, give yourself permission to go for a walk through the forest, take a dip in the ocean or a lake or walk through a beautiful garden. You don’t have to wait for your annual holiday, no matter where you live nature is never that far away. Make it a part of your schedule!

“There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, there is a rapture on the lonely shore, there is society, where none intrudes. By the deep sea, and music in its roar. I love not man less but, nature more.
– Lord Byron

4. KEEP GOOD COMPANY.

I am always fascinated to see how few people actually understand this simple fact. Stay far away from people who bitch and whine about everything! It doesn’t matter who they are. Many of my clients have changed their lives dramatically by practicing this simple piece of advice. Here is an exert from Dr Wayne Dyer that captures what I’m saying perfectly, “Give those that find fault or who are confrontational a silent blessing and remove yourself from their energy as quickly as possible. Your life is simplified enormously when you don’t have to defend yourself to anyone, and when you receive support rather than criticism. You don’t have to endure criticism with anything other than a polite thank-you and a promise to consider what’s been said….anything else is a state of conflict that erases the possibility of your feeling inspired. You never need to defend yourself or your desires to anyone, as those inner feelings are Spirit speaking to you. Those thoughts are sacred, so don’t ever let anyone trample on them”. I know of many relationships that have been saved by clients simply ridding themselves of toxic ‘friends’ and ‘family’.

“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great”
– Mark Twain

5. DON’T FORGET TO HAVE FUN.

Most of us take life far too seriously, don’t be afraid to let the inner child out regularly….take no notice of those who tell you to grow up. Everything we do should have an element of fun involved. Remember when you were a child, how present you were in everything you did, how the world filled you with wonder. How easy it was to laugh, especially at yourself? Deep down you are still that child. There is nothing grown up about being miserable! Smile you don’t own all the problems in the world!

“You are led through your lifetime by the inner learning creature, the playful spiritual being that is your real Self”
– Richard Bach

“Fun is one of the most important-and-underrated ingredients in any successful venture. If you’re not having fun, then it’s probably time to call it quits and try something else”
– Richard Branson
